Getting
a New Organization up to CMMI Level 3 - Again!
Michael D. Harris is a Senior Vice President with
Fidelity Information Services (FIS), a leading software and services
provider for the world's top financial institutions, which is part of
Fidelity National Financial. Mr. Harris joined FIS through its acquisition
of Sanchez in April 2004. At
Sanchez, Mr. Harris was President of the Banking Division and had overall
responsibility for delivering and maintaining Sanchez banking software
solutions, including all software development, testing, and documentation.
Between July 2001 and October 2002, and as the senior vice president of
engineering at Sanchez, Mr. Harris led the engineering group to achieve
CMM Level 3 in 15 months from a "standing start." Net savings on
inspections alone have been over $7.5M since May 2002. Before arriving at
Sanchez in April 2000, Mr. Harris was a senior vice president for
MasterCard International where he was the head of MasterCard's global chip
group.

Update
on CMMI Adoption and SEI Plans for Version 1.2
Mike Konrad is a co-author and co-editor of the
book "CMMI: Guidelines for Process Integration and Product
Improvement” available from Addison-Wesley. Mr. Konrad is also the
manager of the CMMI at the Software Engineering Institutes (SEI) where he
manages the day-to-day activities that support CMMI®. He has been with
the SEI since 1988 and has made significant contributions to the
development of the CMM for Software, the USAF/ASC Software Development
Capability Evaluation method, and ISO 15504. From 1998-2002, Mr. Konrad
was co-lead of the CMMI model development team.

Joseph
Billi has over 25 years of experience in Software Engineering and over 17
years involvement in Process Improvement. Although currently focusing on
Enterprise Application Integration, Joseph
was VP of Project and Process Management at Automatic Data Processing
(ADP) where he was elected an ADP Fellow. Joseph’s responsibilities
focus on improving the performance of the more than 100 IT groups in ADP.
Prior to joining ADP, Joseph worked for The MITRE Corporation providing
process improvement and appraisal consultation. Earlier, Joseph worked as
a project leader, software developer, and SEPG member for U.S. defense
contractors. Joseph is an SEI Authorized Lead Assessor, SEI Authorized
SCAMPI Lead Appraiser and has completed Lead TickIT Auditor training.
Joseph is co-founder and past-Chair of the North Jersey SPIN and was
co-Chair of the 1996 SEPG National Conference in Atlantic City. Joseph has
a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

Lori has 35 years experience
in systems development and back office operations in the Financial

while at Merrill Lynch, Lori switched her focus from systems development

An accomplished trainer and lecturer, Lori is now the Director of
Training at SMS. Prior to
Merrill Lynch, she worked at the Bank of Montreal, Citicorp, Continental
Insurance and Sears, Roebuck. She holds an MBA in Finance from Rutgers,

Gene Miluk is a Senior Member of the Technical
Staff at the SEI. Gene is the
project lead for development of SCAMPI B&C appraisals. For the past 12
years Gene had been working with client organizations undertaking Software
Process Improvement, Software Acquisition Improvement and Technology
Transition. He is an SEI authorized CBA-IPI and SCAMPI lead assessor as
well as a CMM and CMMI instructor. Gene was part of the development team
for the CMMI and a member of the AMIT team developing the SCAMPI A
appraisal method. Prior to joining SEI, Gene was the founder of the Denver
Metrics Group, Inc. He has been a frequent lecturer and an instructor at

Sharon Miller has over 30
years experience as a software quality consultant with extensive knowledge

training. Ms. Miller is an American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified

Ron
Ulrich has been working in the computing industry for over 40 years. His
experience spans both commercial and government contractor programs. He
worked as a developer and manager of developers and has been involved in
all life cycle tasks, from pre-sales activities through operations and
maintenance. Mr. Ulrich is currently the manager of the SCAMPI appraisal
program at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems where his organization has
performed 31 SCAMPI Class A Appraisals. He is responsible for leading the
pool of SCAMPI Lead Appraisers (15) and Appraisal Team Members,
pre-appraisal preparation, and the appraisal themselves. Ron is an SEI

Phil served as the AMC and CECOM Software Engineering Officer in
